WELCOME TO DC METRO ALUMNI CHAPTER, INC. OF STILLMAN COLLEGE
DC Metro Alumni Association, Inc is a 501(c)(3) organization providing an avenue for former Stillman College alumni in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area to connect with fellow graduates and to create an agenda to provide financial support to current and prospective students through scholarships.
Stillman College is an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities).
A BRIEF HISTORY DC METRO ALUMNI CHAPTER
The DC Metro Alumni Chapter, Inc. of Stillman College is dedicated to supporting the growth and continued success of Stillman College while fostering strong connections among alumni in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The chapter was founded in February 1963 after Mr. Samuel Ethridge relocated to Washington, DC and recognized the need for Stillman alumni to stay connected. He brought together a group of fellow Stillmanites, and the first meeting was held at the home of Ms. Margette Tompkins, marking the formation of Stillman’s first alumni association.
Since its founding, the chapter has continued to grow and thrive. Members support one another through fellowship, mentorship, and service while working to strengthen the legacy of Stillman College. Over the years, the chapter has hosted several college presidents, including Dr. Stinson, Dr. Wynn, and Dr. Warrick, and has partnered with the college to recruit prospective students from across the DMV area.
The chapter’s primary focus is supporting Stillman through fundraising and engagement initiatives. Through events such as the Annual Night of Music fundraiser, student and alumni mentorship efforts, and community gatherings like our annual Christmas celebration, every activity reflects our shared commitment and love for Stillman College.
